snow

i took these pictures around my yard a couple weeks ago after what we thought was going to be a big snow storm, but turned out to be just a few inches.
i did some experimenting with color tinting, just for fun.
dog prints going up the stairs

looking west from my house

looking east

this might be my favorite, although i like the one with the snowy flower pots too.

snow fall

i love, love, love seeing still-green plants partly covered in snow. it reminds me that there is still life under all the cold darkness and death that winter represents.i guess this is called still::body (or something like that). i've done it before, thought i was being really creative, but since it has a name in photographic circles, it's not as creative as i thought. oh well, i still like it.

hard to believe this is the same tree as the blazing golden one from my last post, only a couple weeks before.

the pumpkin patch

ansel adams said the secret to taking good photos is to take lots of them, and hopefully a couple of them will be really good. at the zoo i took over 100, and here at the pumpkin patch i took about 85! ok, some of them were of my kids and husband. anyway, here are some of my fall favorites...
