the arrangement of these mums reminds me of a patchwork quilt.

I always thought gourds only came in tiny sizes.  

But a recent trip to the pumpkin patch taught me that they can also  be huge!

These gourds looked like giant green apples with watermelon skin.
I've never seen gourds like these before.

last week we took the kids to a local pumpkin patch to get their pumpkins.
