aka: java jacket; sleeve - these generally go over paper cups from the coffee shop, but since i don't have any laying around, i displayed it on a regular travel mug - looks cute there too!

a new craft
as you know, i've been crocheting. i decided to highlight my projects over here, and kind of expand this blog to include all of my creative outlets, not just photographs.
here is my new cell phone holder. i found the pattern online. if i made it again, i'd use different colors, and maybe a different way of opening and closing. not sure about the button. actually, the pattern said to tie some beaded fringe into the button hole to hold the flap down, instead of an actual button. i thought a button would be easier.
anyway, i like it, for the most part.

fingerless mittens. these are the latest fashion in winter accessories. they are cute, and they're actually nice and warm for wearing around the house, keeping your hands free to do things. i like 'em.

and, the slippers - these are the same pics i put on my other blog, just wanted to put them over here incase anybody new is watching...
the pink ones, i don't like too well. the yarn is kind of pearly and slippery. i did sew some rubber shelf liner onto the bottoms so they don't slide on the floor, but they slide off her feet a lot. and they're not very thick, so i'm not sure how warm they are.
i really like these. i used sugar 'n cream yarn, which is nice and thick, and easy to work with. the stitches are nice and tight, and i love the colors.

my first hat and scarf...

snow
i took these pictures around my yard a couple weeks ago after what we thought was going to be a big snow storm, but turned out to be just a few inches.
i did some experimenting with color tinting, just for fun.
dog prints going up the stairs

looking east

this might be my favorite, although i like the one with the snowy flower pots too.

snow fall
i love, love, love seeing still-green plants partly covered in snow. it reminds me that there is still life under all the cold darkness and death that winter represents.
i guess this is called still::body (or something like that). i've done it before, thought i was being really creative, but since it has a name in photographic circles, it's not as creative as i thought. oh well, i still like it.

hard to believe this is the same tree as the blazing golden one from my last post, only a couple weeks before.
